On Country

Home > Projects > On Country

Our vision for reconciliation is a nation that embraces unity between First Nations peoples and other Australians. The vision includes: a national culture that represents equality and equity, an appreciation of and respect for the values and spirituality possessed by First Nations peoples, an awareness of our shared history, an acceptance of our differences and elimination of negative race relations.

In the context of Terras, this represents equal opportunities for our First Nations stakeholders, both within the organisation and outside it, and an inclusive and diverse workplace that is not just culturally safe, but culturally rich and proud. There is opportunity to capture a beauty within the spaces we create which are informed by understanding, knowledge and respect, respecting the past, connecting to Country.

As landscape architects our sphere of influence can range from a personal level (for individual residential projects) to the broader community (hospitals, schools, parkland’s, public domains).

Terras seeks to develop a regard for Country as held by its traditional owners and aims to have this reflected in all it produces. Terras has an accredited Reconciliation Action Plan [RAP] that outlines our commitments to this process.
